My Entrepreneurship Story

Not too long ago, three of my classmates and I had the opportunity to create a business venture that we would be able to showcase to our peers and in a way, sell the idea to people. We thought of developing a service that specialized in less expensive trips for college students. We named it "Roam" and later went on to create a website, brochures, and business plan for it. This entire process brought me so much exposure to the concept of entrepreneurship and the fact that an idea can be taken so far to potentially become a success.

Registering for ENT 3003 seemed like such a new experience for me, as I have never taken an online class before and haven't really learned that much about entrepreneurship in general. That is why I thought that this class would be unique for me and would also teach me basic skills about this subject I am not so commonly exposed to in school. I felt that registering for ENT 3003 would make me much more familiar with the entrepreneur in me.

  1. I am so jealous of the opportunity and experience you have already had with being an entrepreneur. I hope to be able to own my own business one day and be able to learn and grow from it. My experiences with online classes have varied, but what I have learned is do not get behind! My best advice is act like you have a class at the same time each week and complete the assignments then and you treat it more like a normal class in which you attend. 2. That's awesome that you started your own company. I have experience with making my own website too, which I talked about in my blog post (http://ryanent3003.blogspot.com/2016/01/my-entrepreneurship-story.html). Although you took it a step further and developed a whole product for it. I registered for ENT3003 for similar reasons, to see if entrepreneurship is all about, since we are not typically exposed to it.

  3. Wow. You have a very creative entrepreneur idea. The low cost traveling for college students is a need that needs to be met. I am sure the travel industry appreciates college students as they bring more people. My story was a little different, but I did develop my company to supply a need. Waiting on your kids at the ball game is very hot and the people love buying shaved ice to cool down. I registered to ENT3003 for different reasons, but I think we will both benefit from it.
